Exposing the OZ100SG junctions to light will create reverse leakage current, Ir. This assumes the diode is reverse biased, i.e. blocking. Ir can be controlled by varying the amount of light. The more light, the more leakage current. Monitoring Ir provides a way for indirect measurement , hence feedback.

Opto-couplers OC100 and OC250 provide up to 25kV in one package. Each feature integrated light sources used to expose opto-diode junctions to light.
